Ross's Gull
"Akudlik March lies within the Churchill Special Conservation Area, established to protect the nexting grounds of the rare Ross's Gull. Normall found in northern Europe, the first pair of Ross's Gulls known to nest in North America was seen here in 1980. To prevent disturbance of nesting sites, the vicinity is posted with signs and entry is prohibited. Visitors are welcome to watch these birds from the observation mound and from roadways."
