This is a picture of Shelly and Charlene Morrison in a sled with the family cat in front of the church near their home. Their parents, Bev and Ray, used an extension cord to receive hydro power from this church so they could have one light bulb and the fridge running. (And I thought we had it bad!)
This is a photo of Shelly and Charlene Morrison playing on the rocks on the beach in front of CFB Fort Churchill Married Quarters (PMQ). Their father, Ray Morrison, was stationed at HMCS Churchill. They were living on the Base of Fort Churchill when this photo was taken.
Bev and Ray Morrison and their two daughters lived in Churchill townsite in the 1950s. They eventually moved onto the Fort Churchill Military Base. In fact, they moved into our PMQ in "J" area when we left to go to Victoria. Ray was also in the Navy. In this photo Bev and her daughters were celebrating Christmas Day with us, along with some of our other friends from the Navy Base.
Here's a photo of neighbourhood kids playing in the snow outside our back door on the base.
This picture, from a base newspaper, shows my son Mike's Kindergarten Class at Duke of Ed School on the base. The class was singing in a Christmas concert.
Betty Thompson and her son Danny on the beach. Our residence can not be seen from here as it is up on the hill in the back and too far away to be seen from the beach.
